The narrator sees that everyone in the city is suffering in one way or another whenever he looks around. When he gets into the bus, he realizes that all the passengers are ghosts. Moreover, as the bus gets closer to heaven these ghosts turnout to be people and the city becomes different with less evil going on. The narrator finds out that the landscape is real when he steps out of the bus, and he gets hurt physically. The irony happens when these ghosts are allowed to pass through the same land and get into heaven.The passengers are allowed to choose their destiny whether they want to remain ghosts or become spirits once the bus reaches Heaven city. The choice of either being in heaven or hell lies upon human being decisions, and it is implicated that the ghosts are in hell whereas the spirits are in heaven. Apparently, it does not sound foolish, this is because, in order for the ghosts to be spirits and enter into heaven they need to detach themselves completely from something.
